Review of the
Worker Retaliator Catch Plate
The Worker Retaliator catch plate
was purchased as part of an experiment to see if one could re-build an entire
retaliator with nothing but a shell. As
it turns out, I also had a bolt sled and trigger I could use, but worker sells
those as well.
Worker Catch Plate...notice the straight catch bar. |
The catch plate is made of a
durable alloy and should have reduced wear and tear over time (On the catch
plate that is.). Included in the kit is
1 worker catch plate and 1 worker catch spring.
As stated before, the catch spring is extremely beefy, and is probably
the same spring they use with their 12 kg spring!
I’m going to break it down simple,
and go directly into the pros and cons:
Pro:
-
Metal Alloys make this extremely durable
-
If necessary, it is a cheap replacement at about
6 dollars, give or take a few cents.
Cons:
-
Could wear out plastic parts
-
Straight bar across the top of the catch mech.
Makes it harder to prime.
-
It does cost 6 dollars…
Would I recommend this product
from worker?
I had to
purchase this with my own money, and I would say only purchase it if you need it.
If you can use a plastic one, or don’t need it, then don’t buy it. It is fairly cheap, but not the best option
in my opinion. One of it’s biggest
faults is the straight bar where the rod catches, and it makes this a PAIN to prime,
esp. with a 7kg spring, let alone a 12 kg spring!
This is
probably best used with a pump grip.
