Review of the Worker Retaliator Catch Plate

Review of the Worker Retaliator Catch Plate

The Worker Retaliator catch plate was purchased as part of an experiment to see if one could re-build an entire retaliator with nothing but a shell.  As it turns out, I also had a bolt sled and trigger I could use, but worker sells those as well.

Worker Swordfish released!

Worker Swordfish Released! (Not a review.)
The community is excited as worker recently released the Swordfish: A stryfe shell that was designed by worker!  The nice thing about this is that with the stryfe shortage making stryfes 50-80 dollars, we now have a viable alternative!  A 30-40 dollar alternative, but it is still cheaper than 50-80 dollars.

Review of the Elite Alpha Trooper Spring Upgrade kit from Worker.

Review of the Elite Alpha Trooper Spring Upgrade kit from Worker.

I don’t know how long it has been out by worker, but I found worker’s spring upgrade kit for the EAT.  5 kilograms is safe for the priming rod, and doubles the spring-weight!

All parts in this set have been used (minus the Vaseline), and I find all parts perform their duty adequately.

Nerf News: Everest Toys and Nerf Rival

Nerf News: Everest Toys and Nerf Rival
By now, the hype is on for the new vortex release, so that’s old news.  What else is older news by now? New rival blasters, leaked from the same place that the delta trooper, scout 2.0, and Thunder-hawk were leaked a few weeks back.

Everest toys has given us some interesting leaks in the past (without pictures) and another three leaks are coming in today: (No pictures yet)

The Star Wars RP Zeus Blaster
The Star Wars RP Athena Blaster (New!)
(Pix 1)
The Star Wars RP Hercules Blaster (New!)
(Pix 2)

These are the second and third blasters (The Hercules and Athena) to become promotional products before their main series release.  The first being the Deadpool Kronos XVIII-500 blasters.  The current Hercules is a Bigshock w/ an AR removed and a paint job, but now a real one comes!

What do I expect?  Obviously, a Zeus repaint (Hasbro LOVES their repaints).  The Hercules blaster should be big, and it needs to carry a decent amount of ammunition.  I cannot wait to see what will happen in the weeks ahead!

In Newer News, the community hype is on for the latest overwatch series blasters release.  Some theorize that there will be leaks at a major toy convention in November, but we don’t know that for certain.  The announcement came after this was released on twitter by Overwatch.  I have never played Overwatch, but to those who enjoy it and nerf, I can only expect much joy if the blasters are indeed not re-shells, but new technology!  (I mean, new blasters usually means new modification potential.)

1000 Mile Mark at the Nerf Single-Shot Workshop

1000 View Mile Mark at the Nerf Single-Shot Workshop

My apologies for not posting recently.  More Rival News to come.
I was excited on May 17, 2018 when I looked at the stats page to find that our viewership had gone from about 100+ when I re-started the blog, all the way to the 1000 view mark.  (1017 to be precise.)

I wanted to give a quick thank you to my viewers for helping to keep this blog going by viewing.  We have gone from a few views a month in September and October, to 2-3 views almost every day in May!  Sometimes, as many as 5 views a day, which I never expected to happen!

I look forward to the future of nerf with all of you!  And speaking of which, we have some nerf Rival news in the post following this one! – T.N.C.

Nerf Blast from the Past Review: Nerf Vortex Proton

Nerf Blast from the Past Review: Nerf Vortex Proton

GENERAL INFO:
Included was a blaster and 3 discs.  (In both packages)
There were also a special package or two released with the proton.  (2-packs and such).

Besides the original were a white recolor and a sonic series proton.

MY IDEAS OF THE BLASTER:
The blaster is a mini power house, but we are going to get into that later.  Lets start with the basics:
Released in the first vortex wave release, and 1 of 7 blasters, the proton has received 2 paint jobs:  The original, and a white recolor.  The white recolor looks sweet in my opinion.  Picture posted to the right.

Nerf Blast from the Past Review: Nerf N-strike Elite Stryfe

Nerf Blast from the Past Review: Nerf N-strike Elite Stryfe (includes Elite XD & Modulus)

GENERAL INFO:
Included (Elite and Elite XD): Blaster, 6 dart clip, and 6 darts.
Stryfe CS-18 Mission Kit: Stryfe, 18 Clip, 18 darts, Stockade Stock, and Retaliator Barrel.
Modulus Stryfe: Blaster, 6 dart clip, 6 darts, barrel, and handle.

MY IDEAS OF THE BLASTER:
Courtesy of Nerf Wikia
The blaster is widely known as one of the best blasters for modifying along with the Longshot and Nite-finder.  The Stryfe is nice for beginners, because it has a simple internal operation platform.

The handle is very comfortable.  The trigger pull is also rather easy.  The blaster is nice and compact and can be used as a side-arm on heavier loadouts.  This blaster may very well have the most kits released for it, and there are MANY different parts, kits, and upgrades that can be purchased for this blaster.

Official Announcement:

Official Announcement:

I kind of hinted before that I sell nerf blasters, but I now want to openly announce that I sell nerf blasters.  If you are interested in purchasing any, a link is providing to Basement Brigades eBay store.  I sell blasters and such under the nerf section.
Wanted to let you know in case you were interested.
Also, I have been thinking about how I want to structure things in my blog.  I know I want to stick with modifications, modified blaster reviews, and some reviews, but I don’t have enough time / money / permission to review a lot of brand new blasters.  However, my reviews are rather popular.  I may start talking more about modification relevancy, but I want YOUR opinion.  After all, you guys, the readers, are who I write this for.  Should I post more videos?  Mods? Or reviews?  Please let me know in the comment’s below.  Let me know in the comment section below.  Feedback is appreciated and thank you in advance!

Nerf Review: Modified Nerf Mega Cycloneshock

Nerf Review: Modified Nerf Mega Cycloneshock

GENERAL INFO:
Modifications: AR Removal, Dart Post Removal, Trigger Lock Removal.

MY IDEAS OF THE BLASTER:
Modified Cycloneshock for sale as of: 3/22/18
This blaster had a problem with varying ranges, so I decided I would take out the AR, as that is what was causing the problem.  Unfortunately, it means dryfiring is dangerous, but at least the blaster fires more consistantly now.  Good darts fire somewhere around 45-55 feet.  Not as good darts still fire around 30-35 feet.

Not much more power was achieved from this mod.  I need an upgraded spring to do so.

RANGES:
50 feet flat on average.  Angled shots were not recorded.

ACCURACY:
Just what you might expect from a mega blaster…terrible.

Come soon mega accustrike…come soon.

Blast from the Past Nerf Review: Nerf Vortex Nitron

Blast from the Past Nerf Review: Nerf Vortex Nitron

GENERAL INFO:
Included 1 scope, 20 round clips, and 20 XLR Discs.

MY IDEAS OF THE BLASTER:
While a lot of fun, this blaster is probably on the lower end of the vortex line and was the only vortex blaster to not receive a recolor/re-shell.  It was not popular then, but of the two I owned, I sold them within hours of listing them.

Nerf Vortex Nitron
Courtesy of Nerf Wiki
These used to fetch a pretty penny, but now are only about 25 dollars USD complete.  30 dollars USD if you are lucky with the scope and all 20 discs.

One important note is that the blaster only likes stock style ammunition.  The off-brand ammunition with a raised middle section do not work at all and will only create stress on the blaster.

The RoF is less than stellar.  About 1 to 1.5 darts per second.  With all these cons, you may think it is a terrible blaster.  Never fear.  With stock ammunition and good batteries, this blaster has 2 redeeming features.

RANGES:
45 feet flat, 40 feet usable range to get a good shot.
Best angled shots can get 47-50 feet with 45 feet usable range.

4 batteries were slightly used, and 2 were used more before the other four.  Theoretically, this “might” have lived up to the 60 feet range claims.

ACCURACY:
This was the kicker.  Most vortex blasters suffer the “curve curse.”  This one, when fired flat, does not suffer from that “curve curse.”  At about 35 feet, I hit the target I was aiming for.  The target was about 6 inches, so a human hit is guaranteed.

SPECIAL ITEMS:
 20 round full auto blasting.

This is a decent blaster in my honest opinion.  Stock war practical too!  (Apart from rev time.)  Decent range, accuracy, and capacity.

Blast from the Past Review: Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700

Nerf Review: Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700

This is starting the "Blast from the Past" series.  Blast from the Past blasters are older, outdated blasters.  More recent blasters will be posted under "Modern Review"

Yeah, it's old and outclassed, but I am going to review it anyways as it was a cheap startup option with varying ammunition capacity.

Nerf News: Drac Visits the Toy Fair, Blasters Confirmed, Blasters Leaked, and More!

Drac Visits the Toy Fair, Blasters Confirmed, Blasters Leaked, and More!
I am the very model of a Modern Major General...
OK, I have a lot of ground to cover, so please bear with me.  This is a rather long post, covering lots of news...

Lord Draconial Visited the Hasbro Toy Fair, and got a look at some really cool blasters!  Including the new Accumegas!  I am rather excited, and cannot wait for the accumega's release, but while I wait, let's go over some of the other blasters that are coming up for release.

Here we go! (It's all after the break)

Nerf Review: Buzz Bee Tek 6

The Buzz Bee Spring Donor...Tek 6
(Nerf Wikia Photo)

Nerf Review: Buzz Bee Tek 6

GENERAL INFO:
(regular 1 pack blaster)- 1 blaster and 6 micro darts.

MY IDEAS OF THE BLASTER:
The blaster is one of the best donor spring blasters.  I put one in my Firestrike (The one I did the mod review on) and made it a very strong blaster.
Aesthetically, the Tek 6 lacks, in my opinion.  It’s odd handle and priming mechanism makes it odd to cock.
